Bio: Harlan Landes is the founder and executive director of the Plutus Foundation, which he founded in 2015 to provide resources and grant money to assist the independent financial media to create, develop, and administer programs that enhance financial literacy, education, and empowerment
In 2003, He founded one of the first independent personal finance blogs, Consumerism Commentary, to hold himself accountable for his own financial decisions, which helped launch an extensive community of publishers working to develop their own materials online, focusing on topics like budgeting, investing, and wise financial decision-making.
Harlan also created the Plutus Awards to highlight independent financial publishers and to acknowledge and celebrate financial blogs, books, websites, podcasts, and videos.
Harlan’s articles and other media have appeared in U.S. News & World Report, PC World, Yahoo Finance, and other publications and corporate presentations.
Outside of financial media, Harlan is the executive director of the Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps.
